Choosing the right teacher is very important in an individual’s musical development. Here are some of the reasons to join my studio:

- I hold a Standard Texas Teaching Certificate EC-12 for Music and German and have taught 5th-12th grade in public schools
- I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music with a focus on classical guitar and percussion performance, composition, and conducting.
- I have won awards in 4 collegiate level classical guitar competitions
- I have performed in masterclasses and had private lessons with many of the world’s leading concert guitarists and percussionists.

I overheard Byron playing with a group on campus at Texas A&M and was extremely impressed. After a short discussion I learned that he offered lessons. I’d always wanted to learn classical guitar so we began lessons. Byron customized lessons for me that focused less on musical theory and more on tablature (with which I was more familiar). Starting as a complete beginner, I took lessons with Byron over the next 4-5 years. He is an excellent instructor with a very patient and laid back teaching style. During lessons, he would never rush me, instead taking the time to make sure I fully understood what I was doing. I always left with a clear understanding of the exact things I had to improve and what I was doing right. Byron’s influence extended beyond our lessons, taking me out to my first guitar festival/competition and always encouraging me to attend local guitar concerts.
